Did you know the BB's are high Beams with a coating?they will sound the same!!

That's true but they won't sound the same.

They'll sound like Hi Beams with a coating, which makes them an entirely different sounding string. I've used the BB's and they do yield a nice tone

So what do you think the difference in tone between the two types are?perhaps the High Beams might be slightly brighter, but i'm sure there isn't alot in it?

Try the DR nickle Lo riders as well. Stiff, nice nickle feel.

Have you tried them?

There is a significant difference - not bad, just different. The coated strings are significantly muffled but still very punchy. I didn't dig the slap tone at all, but the fingerstyle is nice.

The feel is great and the tension is a bit tighter, though still flexible like the Hi Beams.

I have the Red devil's on one of my basses, and i do like them, but they look bad when the coating starts to come off!!!so i was told to try the High Beams which apparently sound the same, but without the coating, they are on order,so let's see if iv'e wasted my money or not when they arrive,i'm sure they will be fine though,
