DR Highbeam Flats

Anybody have a review of these? I have a new bass on the way and might wanna try 'em (otherwise I'll stick with one of my other two faves--Chromes if I go flat, Nickel LoRiders if I go roundwound).

I wish I could give you a review. I ordered a set from JustStrings.com quite a while ago (a month or so) and as far as I know they're still out of stock.

Just a follow up to my previous post.

I looked a few other places and either they weren't in stock or that retailer didn't have them on the website.

So I called JustStrings this morning to get a status and they said they've gotten very few sets of the Hi Beam Flats so far, they've been back ordered for a long time, and they don't know when or how many sets they'll get. They said there's apparently some issue in manufacturing. I don't know if that means a design issue, a problem with the materials, a problem getting materials, etc.

In any case, they let me cancel the order (placed 1/11/07) and I ordered a different set instead - D'Addario Chrome Flats. I confirmed they're in stock before ordering, but if you're thinking of trying them instead keep in mind they only have two there are only two more sets left. Just an FYI.

I love DR strings (Hi-Beams and Stainless Lo-Riders especially) but...

Their website is pitiful and the last time they released a new string, it was the same. When the Fatbeams came out, they had trouble meeting demand as well. With that said, juststrings.com loves to advertise the strings for sale way before they get them in some cases. I'm not sure if they are being lied to about the date from the stringmaker (DR in this case) or if they know that they will not have them for awhile and list them for sale anyway.
