Dr highbeam FLATS anyone use them?

Hi everyone, I went into my local music shop today for a pack of chromes, but they were all out, but had DR highbeam Flatwounds in stock.

Anyone try these?
Are they more of a bright flat like rotosounds/chromes or a "dead" flat like ghs-labellas?

Im looking for a nice bright flatwound for my 57ri.
Basiclly a nickel round brightness, but with the super silky smooth feel and huge bottom end of flats.

thanks,,
-J

I don't think you will find any flats with the brightness of nickel rounds. The Hi-Beam flats are excellent however. They have very nice clarity, but with a deep smooth sound to them. One of the best flatwound strings I have played. Similar to GHS flatwounds.

Got a set and love them. I purchased a Carvin AC40 a few months ago. Contrary to most owners opinions, I did not like the tapewounds that were on it. Had a set of highbeam flats that i had on one of my other bass's. I put them on the Carvin and they finally found a home. I get a nice thud and can get some growl. I also love DR strings and also have sunbeams and black beauties on my other 3 basses.

Hmm... similer to Ghs precision flats? I have found that the GHS flats are in the "more dead" spectrum of flats, along with labellas, im looking for brighter flats like chromes/rotosounds...
