If I want some DR Lo Rider strings, what is the best match to the Thomastik-Infeld Powerbass Round Wound strings? I think these are also medium-light. Here are my options:

DR Strings LO-RIDER - Stainless Steel Hex Core Bass 30-130

DR Strings LO-RIDER - Stainless Steel Hex Core Bass 45-100

DR Strings LO-RIDER - Stainless Steel Hex Core Bass 40-100

DR Strings LO-RIDER - Stainless Steel Hex Core Bass 50-110

DR Strings LO-RIDER - Stainless Steel Hex Core Bass 45-105

I dont really understand what the numbers mean.

the numbers are the string size Example: 45-105 g string is .045 of an inch e string is .105 of and inch.

The numbers are the gauge of the string, i.e. the thickness. The lower the number, the thinner the string. What do you mean you want them to match TI powerbass rounds? Are you only going to replace one string on a bass already strung with this other type of string?

I do, so what do you recommend?

I want my bass with low action and easy to use, so I guess I want low gauge. I heard that I might give up some tone quality, but I think it may be easier to slap with.

Lo-riders are easy to slap with regardless of string guage. In my personal experience anyway...

smaller strings doesn't really mean easy to slap. I play on hi- beam 105-45. i've tryed 100-40 and found them to small.

You might want to consider tension as well. Lo-Riders are very high tension, so they can be lowered down farther (hence Lo-Rider!) but you might not like such a high tension coming from TI's.

And medium-lights are probably 45-100.
