Just tried these strings for the first time today.. I don't know what took me so long to try a set.. These strings are incredible.. I put a set on my Fender Jaguar and on my Jazz Bass also.. I got the 50-110's and am tuned down half a step.. Seriously everything i've been looking for in a string..

If the Fat Beams came in heavier gauges i'd think about giving them a try..

You can get the hi-beams in heavys:
50, 70, 90. 110

Or the DDT's in extra heavy:
65, 85, 102, 125

Exactly!
They been my personal favorites for quite a while now. Seems to have everything at the right level.

Glad you found them.

I love the the growl on Lo Rider (I was using Nickel), but Fat Beams is just...SWEET. Huge bottom and crispy High. When I put a set on my bass, it was like the bass was singing a love song to me.....

May try a set of FB's. I've been exclusively nickle Lo's for a few years now.

I just thru a set of SS Lo Riders 45-100 of a 50's P. The first rehearsal was tough. Too bright. After that they sounded great.

I was going to try the Hi-Beams next,, but i really like the stiffness of the Lo-Riders.. I'm worried the DDT's would be too heavy.. Even the 55-115's..

I love my Lo-Riders.

It's probably almost time for some new ones, as mine have been on my Ric over 2 years. They still sound good, though...and that's from someone who likes clank.

I'm using Lorider since 6 years now, I think those are the better versatile DR strings, they can cover so different tone for a bass sound.
Cheers. Enrico

I've used LoRiders and I'm going back to them. It's fun to try out different strings, but the LoRiders have a great combination of clarity and growl. Also, the higher tension allows for a nice, low action.

I loved the Lo-Riders when I used them, but personally I found that Roto 66LE's were a bit brighter, which is a plus for me and they lasted longer. DR makes good stuff though.

I have a set of Fat Beams in the mail that should be getting here in the next day or two. The anticipation is killing me.
