DR "LongNecks"

I just put on some of these strings a week ago and they feel and sound great. Although they dont seem to get as much hype as other DRs such as Hi beams or Lo riders. Has anyone else tried these stings? Whats your thoughts?

I thought they were just long scale Hi Beams? Anyone know for sure?

No, they are not long scale hi-beams. Long-Necks are tapered stainless strings wrapped on a hex core.

I currently am using kind of a hybrid set of DR's right now. I'm using a Long Neck .130 for my low b, and Hi-Beams for E-C. So far I really like the bounce and punch I get from them, but they have a bit more fret noise than I expected.

I use them on my Warwick 5'ers because they are tapered. I like them just fine. The only tapered DR's I know of. If someone knows of others let me know.

These are the only tapered strings DR currently makes. I guess they used to make a Hi-beam tapered for an extra option, but stopped doing it because of the difficulty of wrapping on a round core.
