DR low rider string tension vs D'addario?

Sign in to disble this ad
I wanted to try out some dr low riders, but was curious about the string tension. The website says they are stiffer, but that doesn't really tell me anything. I am used to playing D'addario xl nickel plated steel roundwounds. Which has higher or lower tension, or are they about the same? Thanks.

anyone know? I was considering trying out the low riders or the high beams, but couldn't find any info on the actual tension compared to my D'addarios.

Lo Riders do feel a bit stiffer than nickel XL's. Not a lot, but it's there.

Yeah I think I'd agree with this. Last night I changed out the stock strings on a new SX Jazz fiver which I believe are D'Addarios, and put on a set of DR Lo-Riders. They didn't seem much stiffer but I did feel a slight difference. I doubt it would matter to you that much.
