I bought a set of these because of their reputation. They're great for slapping although I find them a little harder on my fingers than my Ernie Balls. Just wonderin' if anyone else has encountered the problem?

If the Ernie Ball strings you were using were the nickelplated version, then yeah, they would certainly feel rougher because the Hi-Beams are stainless steel.
