I think this will be tough for people to answer as the neons are so new and the sunbeams don't fly off the shelves like some of DRs other strings.
That said I have a medium gauge pack of green neons for my 5'ver. I normally play hibeams. I like these neons almost as much as my hibeams and they are not sticky like elixers. I dislike the way the DR black beauties felt.. hard to describe why.. clingy to my fingers? These neons seem to have very little of that drag I experienced with the black beauties but I do feel some drag.
All and all from what I've read about sunbeams these neons will probably not replace them for you. To me they are more like the hibeams/loriders. I play with my fingers and the coating has not worn away and they are still playing fresh after about 3 weeks of probably 20 hours all together practicing. BUT give them a shot! Worst case scenario you can sell them to me!
