Does this happen to anyone else? While sliding on DR neons the skin rips of my fingers. Its getting annoying. I just need to know if I'm the only one.

Haven't had that problem with mine but I have noticed that they're alot rougher and the uncoated DRs.

| | | | No of course not. Ive been useing neons on my basses since october. Not as rough as rotosound swing 66 which where my std srtrings since the 1970's, and they didnt have that affect either.

They cut through and have the mid presence i require. I have them on my stingray right now. I find most stainless rounds are rough on the fingers, worst for me were prosteels. even more so than rotosounds.

They sounded good on recording and they work good live. Ill probably try the orange ones out when they die out on me.

| | | | Neons worked out excellently for me.
I've been using flats (chromes and rotos) for a few years, and this was
just one of the many reasons I was a little hesitant to go back to rounds.
The Neons were surprisingly very easy on the fingers. Much smoother than a lot of rounds I've used in the past. I've not had any skin rub off, nor new callouses or blisters. |

| | | | When I first put neons on my basses, I did have to get use to their feel a little. Had been useing rotosound swing 66 previous to them for decades. The neons at first where allmost like it was hard to tell you where touching them. Lol. So I think I may have been a little more heavy handed at first fretting wise with them till got used to em over a couple to 3 days. Esp for light touch slides, taps and other such fretting nuances. It wasnt harder doing these, just a short period when it allmost felt like I wasnt feeling the strings as much. Lol.

If I don't like the way they look, I will put them on my blue modded p-bass. I got some crazy hot pickups on it. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
