I'll buy them just because of the angry spider on the front. Spooky. I use DR black beauties on all of my other basses, guess I can give these a try.

Thatīs awesome! I play on drop D and drop C, and at these pitches sometimes (especially with the C) you lack definition of notes. Hope to test soon these strings!

My severe arachnophobia precludes me from buying these strings but they sound pretty cool.

Hmmm. Thats stinks. Maybe you can have someone buy them for you and have them take the strings out of the box so you can put them on yourself?

So what's so special about these strings, besides a slightly heavier gauge. I have .110 guage DR strings, would these work better?

If someone tries out the medium 4 string set, I'd be interested in hearing a review.

For a short time, I used a .145 as my B string, which was actually tuned to low G#... it was amazing!

YESSSSSSSSS. I play in drop C and have been using DR lowrider heavies. I hope these are as nice as they make them out to be. Any idea when they go on the market?

And I just put an SIT 125 in my E string for drop D tuning. It sounds incredible (to me, YMMV), but I'll probably back it down to a 115 or so: the tension is pretty stout.

This hasn't been my experience at all. I've only used DRs on my 5-string basses and never had a bad result. This is using both the nickel and stainless versions of the Lo-Riders.

Agreed. String gauge doesn't tell even half the story. We know they are for drop-tuning, but what makes these better than any other heavy set of strings for that application? Surprised they don't offer more info.

Cool, thank you, DA, 16 other posts and no one mentioned it, I thought I was losing my mind.
