DR SS Loriders?

Sign in to disble this ad
Just slapped some steel lowriders on my bass today and am wondering if anyone else finds the D and G strings a little bright and twangy on a new set of these strings?

I'm sure they'll settle down after a while but I think I like the nickel Loriders beter so far...

That's what you should expect from DR SS strings.

Yeah, they're bright. They'll settle down a bit after a while, but by then, you'll have grown to appreciate the bright, growly tone that stainless-steel DR Low Riders have to offer.

I know I love them!

What are you switching from? I was turned onto these strings from this forum and absolutely love them. We practiced for 9 hours yesterday!

I've got about 30 hours of playing on my set in about three weeks and they sound 90% or more the same as when I first put them on.

I changed from very, VERY, dead GHS Boomers and have to adjust the pickup height with these strings. (P bass style). With my current setup the A string is substantially brighter and louder than the old strings. I agree the D and G are everything you say, and also agree with MysticBoo above.
