DR String Anchor

First time DR user here 👍 bought a set of Fat Beams and I noticed that the "anchor" of the string actually goes around the tuning posts on the B string. Don't recall if any other strings did the same or exactly how many times it went around but will this have any negative effects while playing or cause any damage? I didn't cut the strings too short, and I remember that my previous strings actually had some room in between the anchor and the tuning posts. Don't think these strings are gonna stay on my bass very long but in the meantime I want to make sure I'm not messing anything up!

DR's are a little longer than other strings so they will work with longer scale lengths.

Best solution is to string them through body, as you don't want the outer wrap going around the post. But, if you followed the instructions in the package about crimping there shouldn't be a problem.

Yea I was puzzled by that at first until I read that it is only necessary to crimp if you are cutting below the anchor, since when you crimp you are creating an anchor, which won't be necessary if the anchor is still in place. My bass is 34" top load, that may be the reason why it's too long, and only on the B string whose tuning post is closer to the fretboard than the rest.
