Anyone tried the XLR30 high beams? I have the MLR-45 hi beams on a J bass and they sound awesome.

A buddy of mine who is a guitar player likes to play my Jazz bass but the tension of the bass strings is more than he cares for - I was thinking about putting the XLR-30 30-50-70-90 strings on so it would be easier for him to play the bass.

Just wondering what i'm going to gain (or lose) with these lighter gauged strings.

I just bought two sets of these, one for my 5 string Warwick Fortress, and one for my Conklin GT7 (I bought singles of the other gauges I wanted).

I'll get back to you on how you are as soon as I receive them.
