i seem to have a problem with my DR LowRiders going out of tune like every other day and sometimes every day

is it a bad batch of strings?
the humidity in my house?
is my my neck or bridge messed up?

trying to figure it out cuz i dont usually hear things like this about DR

my bass is a Ibanez gsr190 and its about 4 years old my cousin lent it to me about a year ago and he had it around that long

or is it maybe the way i play

thanks for any suggestions

Relatively cheap bass + a heavy touch + old strings + maybe bad strings + the changing weather (at least here, it's getting HELLA hot) all attribute to the strings being less awesome.

...poor tuning machines are the usual suspect, but as you have already thought, humidity and weather play hell with any neck.

If that bass has a very thin neck, it is just that much more easily affected.

You're concerned because you have to tune once a day???? Weather changes, going in and out of gig bag, playing harder or longer than usual. Maybe because I used to be a guitarist, but if I only have to tune in the morning I'd be happy, but I do play a lot of chords and on bass need to be in-tune or they get warblely.

I have stopped using DR strings their quality control is poor, and customer service isn't very responsive.

DR guitar strings may suck in your opinion, I know guitarist that love them. Poor quality control, You Got To Be KIDDING?
DR Bass strings are one of the best strings on the market. In 10 yrs I got one bad set of DR's and one bad set of D'Addario's.

I've never had problems with DR strings (guitar strings, I use them on my LP), and all the reports I've heard as to their quality control have been great.

My DR lowriders seem pretty consistant when chcking them for tuning before playing as being all slightly flat or sharp by a mostly equal amount with the lighter gauge strings being a little closer than the larger ones. If the D does it on your next set I'd look to the tuning head or your playing style as you suggested with snapping or bending stretching the string more than the others.
