Drop C strings....

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys, i need to play songs in drop C so I bought Ernie Ball Power Slinkys, gauges 55 75 90 and 110.
I put them on my thunderbird, but as half the time I use standard tuning, they were quite tight and straightened out the neck a bit...if i adjust the truss rod to compensate, will this put too much strain on the thin neck?

buy a different bass, that is a rather bad idea going from standard to Drop C constantly, as the strings end up loose and dead from expeirience
