Drop C Tuning?

I just ordered some EB Power Slinkies for drop c tuning because of their larger gauge. Will the higher gauge make the strings have higher tension in drop tunings?

yes. but if your at C them why not B. So I advise just investing in a 5 string if u are serious about ur playing low Cs

I did an experiment once where I went to a .50-.110 gauge GHS set and downtuned the whole affair to DGCF. I liked the results, and the strings were still amazingly tight, but never could get the tuning into my psyche, so I switched back to a regular tuning with a drop D for the E on occasion.
The tension difference will vary between the various gauges and types of strings you may use.
