Hey, do any of you guys know what strings Duff used to record the "Appetite for destruction" album?

I'm sure he used Rotosounds. You can pretty much copy his tone with a Fender with both P/J pups, Roto's, and settibg your mids full on.

His signature bass is fantastic to play.

Backe then, those strings were called "Spacers". Black anodized stainless steel roundwounds with multicolored silk wraps. I bought six sets and although they sounded great, the anodized black would wear off pretty quickly. Then they changed to "Silver Spacer"; nickelplated steel roundwounds with multicolored silks. Then they were discontinued.

Currently they have a black polymer coating and use a nickel iron alloy..

Yes the flangy crispy tone comes from the chorus as much as from the strings.

Despite having a signature bass, I wonder how many times he uses his beloved Aerodyne Jass instead?

To get what?

If going for the Rotosound Nexus let me know if they have. I would be surprised.
