I don't know about that site. They call his bass a jazz bass and drop the 'special'. They show his amp rig from velvet revolver instead of the 800rb.

The op might want to check out roto 99's because they are made with piano cores as were the spacers he used to use. Also his chorus pedal was a Yamaha, and I think when he talks about using an m80 pre amp he is actually talking about the fender one from the 80's not mxr but not sure.

The 99's are really zingy sounding. Cool. Very duff, but also rather high tension.

I like this thread. Love playing things from that album and love the sound he's got. Good info here to replicate.

More trivia for you - the 1980's JBS were made from basswood, the signature ones that just came out are alder and the custom shop ones that Duff plays are ash. He also had the bridge pickup replaced with Duncan hot stacks.

I was a huge GNR fan when I was 15, this was 8 years ago. I still have as my main rig a GK800RB and a 410 GK cab, its a killer rig and I dont have any plans for anything different ever. I have owned 3 or 4 Jazz Bass specials , nice basses but not for me. I like P width necks.

He didnt use the chorus pedal on AFD. It was first used on UYI.

What ever happened to respecting the musical interests of others??? Some people like him and his tone and his music......some don't. Personally, I find a lot of the jazz bassists out there annoying as hell, but I don't jump in to their threads and deride the OP for liking them.
