Any body use these on a super long scale bass? [Alembic] I hear they last forever but I would like to know what kind of tone they have. I'm looking for a very deep bass, articulate mids and sweet top. The store down the street has them for $25.00

Good tone, do NOT last forever, but do last long, and they just barley fit toploaded on my Traben 35" scale bass.

My second fave rounds for now, I prefer Optima Golds.

For the recod though, I tried the Robert Truillio steel, tapered set, and hated them. Seemd to get horrible wolftones high up the board, espically on the thicker strings, was fine on the G, which wasn't tapered.

The length on my Alembic is 37" from nut to ball. So, I'm going to get some D'Addario 160SL in a four string set, .50.70.85.105 and throw in a .145SL single. Waiting on them to get back with me on whether the regular or taper wound 145 will fit in my bridge saddle. Big mids and thunderous bass, yes.
