I know that there have been many posts on these before. I just wanted to make an updated post on them. These are great strings and have great life and incredible tone and at just around $20.00 a set is a great deal.

I use the 4 string set on my 2008 Corvette $$. I have used the 5 string set a time or two, but I prefer a SS taperwound B string. Again, these strings are fantastic. The just have this tone that I haven't really heard from the many brands I have used and tried. It is almost like they have a slight natural bit of dirt in the tone. They produce an even volume across all strings. Good tension- not too stiff and not too flabby. I am going to continue using them as long as the nous at Dunlop keep making them.

i enjoyed them immensely until i tried Dunlops medium nickels. the tension on the nickels is extremely comfortable. i'd dare say my playing seems to have improved by way of the improved playabilty.

Until recently I used only Rotosounds on my four string basses. I am not quite sure what happened but their tone and the way they played just wasn't for me anymore. Then I found taperwound strings. When I found the Trujillos I knew that I had struck bass string gold. Yes, I am a huge MetallicA fan and love Newsteds tone and was crazy for Trujillos tone. I am not a tone copy cat. But I have to admit that I did try them because they had his name on them. I have worked them into my own tone. Just wanted to put it out there that these strings are definitely worth checking out. Dunlop knows what they are doing.

I want to give some of there standard sets a try. Even though I really only play SS because my hands can kill a fresh set of nickels in a week or less, I want to try both their SS's and their nickels and see how they sound and feel.

I got more life out of the D'Addarios. Better tone too, but still such a rapid loss of life. I stated earlier that I was a big Roto user. They started to feel really rough and felt extra stiff, tone became very " generic". Just really unplayable to me. These Dunlops are running circles around some of the major brands. They are a bargain too.
