E-C 5 String Acoustic Basses - Strings?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey, I'm soon going to grab this nice Tacoma Thunderchief 5, and I've never been a low B fan... So I'm wondering what you guys use to string 5 string acoustic's E-C. Like if you have an acoustic bass strung this way, what do you like...

I'm new to acoustic basses (so i dont know anything), but I really liked the tacoma.... but I couldnt find any acoustic bass specific string that would fit the tuning.. so I'm just wondering if you fellas just use the regular electric bass strings.

I have had a few Tacomas, including a five string. Now just have the one 4 string. All three of my Turner basses are E-C.

You can use any strings. I love the Tomastik Infeld strings. The acousticores are great but low tension. The TI flats or jazz rounds will work great. I have also tried LaBella nylon wound flats.

Good luck
