Question EB Slinkies vs. Roto Monel Flats

Sign in to disble this ad
Here's the thing. I've been using medium EBs for about a month now, and they've mellowed significantly. Now don't get me wrong, I like the tone, typically nickel-steel with good growl, but I've heard that Roto Flats have growl too.

I was wondering, not only if Roto Flats truly have growl, but what their tone is like in comparison to worked in EBs. For one, are they brighter?

BTW, I play a 5 stringer, so the quality of the B is important.

Please don't post if all your going to say is that Slinkies and Monels are two completely different things and that they are incomparable.

Thanks for any responses.

I use the Roto Flats (77LS) that are made out of Monel. They are really bright at first and they do tame down after a while, but I wouldn't really use growly in the description.
