Echo in string?

I recently replaced my strings with some GHS boomers. ive been playing these for a while now. but this new sets E string sounds very dead and like a echo when i pluck it? could it be a broken string? im just kinda lost? help im a noob!

check that it's sitting in the bridge/saddle properly

Also check to make sure it's seated in the nut correctly, routed correctly through the string retainer (if applicable), and exiting the tuning post from the bottom.
