I dont know about u guys but my favorite type of strings for what I play (slap, tap, etc.) are elixer, and if u havent tried them and have some extra cash laying around, give 'em a shot... the only downside is that they cost about $10 per string but they last way longer as long as u take care of them

I must admit, they last a LONG time, but I'm not a huge fan of the way they feel and the tone is not my favorite either.

I've been using them for years. I have to, or need to change them about once a year, sometimes 1-1/2 years. They are good but I'm gonna try some D'ADDARIO half rounds next, just to hear how they sound on my G&L L-2000 K Tribute. I can always go back.

I love 'em (the nanos). The tone is different and won't please everyone, but to me they sound really nice, especially on my Sadowsky because that's a bright bass.

All you have to do to appreciate Elixirs is to play an outdoor gig in 90 degree, 90% humid conditions. Sweat all you want (and I sweat a lot), the Elixirs still sound fresh. Any non-coated set of strings would be dead.

Well worth the money if you like the tone.

I played in conditions worse than those (about 100 degrees, over 90% humidity for hours), and it did kill my strings in about a month or two. I put some flats on that bass, and they withstood 100% humidity, and crazy temperatures as high as in the 90s and as low as the 40s. They still sound great to this day.

So the flats outlasted the Elixers? What flats were they?

is it just me, or do elixirs seem way more flexible than other strings?

well, since god made these strings with his own two hands, they can pretty much withstand anything lol

I pretty much love them. I wish they were cheaper, but they do last a heck of a long time. They do start getting furry after a while, but they seem to last and last. I love them on my Jaguar.
