ELIXER GAUGES

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi to all,

Have a Carvin LB70 I'm going to be putting new strings on soon. A friend of mine let me play his bass with Elixer strings on it and it was sweet and the feel like no other. So I'm leaning to the Elixer strings and after shopping around and researching I have found a light, medium , and heavy string advertised. I play all types of music but Motown and jazz are my favorites. The strings my friend has are mediums and they sounded OK but I was wondering the difference between the mediums and the heavies because the gauge is the same -- 45--105. I may be wrong about that but pretty sure that's what I read. I've used flats (thomastik)and have them on my Fender P but just want to try something different. I use my P Bass for my Motown and Jazz specifically, and kinda use the Carvin for an all round bass so if you all could cmment onthe Elixer Strings I would appreciate it. I did a search at TB and found very little negative comments about this brand string but thought I'd ask about that gauge confusion.
