I personally did not like Elixirs for the 5 minutes I had them on my Sadowsky. They sounded dead compared to a month old set of D'Addario XLs. I strung the old XLs back on and preferred the tone. I typically do not go for overly bright, but the Elixirs where just "dead" sounding out of the box to my ears. But many like them and maybe I should have given them a go in a band setting...
