Elixir vs. Nexus

I mostly gig with Upright, but I have approx. one gig with the el. bass in a month. I use Rotosound RS66s, and I like they sound when new for approx. one week, and than lost the brightness and sustain. Thats very annoying for me, because most of the time, have to practice with dead strings, and than must to buy new strings before every gig, of course on the gig the new strings sound good, but feel strange for my fingers, because I practice dead strings most of the time. So, I decided to go for coated strings. I used Elixirs years ago, they are keep the sound for pretty long time, just that slippery surface was strange for me and the tension was a little high, but if Nexus strings are doesn't keep the sound as long as elixirs I go for Elixirs again. Have you got experience with Rotosound Nexus strings? I tired DR black coated strings, but they sounds like dead strings, when was new.

I use Elixirs, sorry no experience with Nexus. All the best. Cheers.
