I read the article in Bass Player magazine on this set of strings. The Stainless Steel version received a decent review. Do any of you use, or have tried these; what do you think?

Currently I'm stringing two of my jazz's with Marcus Miller's and am quite happy with these strings but, it's nice to experiment.

I just tried 2 sets, one on my 5 and one on my 4. I like them for the most part. I'm mostly a Sadowsky user and comparing them to the Sads, they're not as bright out of the package as the Sadowsky SS but they seem to hold they're brightness a little longer IMO, but that could be due to playing them in the winter and not in the sweaty Summer heat too.

One thing I noticed is the tension difference. They are tighter than any string I've tried. It Makes for a nice, solid B string but I had to take my bass and get it set up for these strings since they raised my action up substantially. I didn't have to make any adjustments to the 4 string Warwick, only the 5 string Valenti. The Warwick neck didn't move at all, but of course it's a thick neck and the Valenti neck is a bit thinner. Grant it, this is only my second set but so far I'm pleased with them. I'd say they're worth a shot.

Here's a thread I started: Elrick Strings??? There's not a whole lot of info there but there's a couple of posts there that may give you some insight.

Thanks for the info Cap,

The tightness of the strings is one of the things that was mentioned in the article also. One of the things I was not looking at doing was setup. I have both basses dead on with the Marcus set, so not really looking at messing with either of those. I have another Jazz that I use for alternate tunings, I think this may become the test unit.
