Endorsement

Sign in to disble this ad
I have been trying to get an endorsement with Rotosound strings for a while now and I cant seem to get any head way. I have been using Swing 66' for about 5 years now and I have never thought of using anything different. I figure why not get an endorsement and promote the strings I love. For me I am not even looking for money or anything. I just want to be able to officially say "Man I love these strings" and maybe throw the logo on my bands site to show endorsements. Every time I am in dialog with other bassists about rigs swing 66' is a 20 minute conversation on why they are not using them on their basses. I want to keep my band anonymous but we have a full length album properly produced and ready to go with 4 years exp. under our belts as a band. I understand the resume building aspect and the business end of the deal. If anyone has any info on where to start or a how to get in direct contact with them, drop some info in here it would be appreciated.

thanks

Try to catch up with them at NAMM if you're able to go. If not, contact the person in charge of artist relations.

Also remember that you are seeking to form a business relationship with YOU as the endorser and them as the endorsee. Their objective is to give endorsements to those who can help them sell their gear. When you speak with them show and tell them how you are going to do that.

I hope this helps.

Martyn How is your guy, martyn@rotosound.com.

Strangely, they still have a number of dead guys listed as endorsing artists: Jaco, Noel Redding, Phil Lynott among them.

But not the Ox. Evidently his deal did not include a perpetuity clause.

Clean up your press pack...

THEN make a phone appointment with artist relations.

Be VERY clear that you just want the right to discuss an endorsement.. not FREE stuff.

Remember they are looking to connect to a bass playing fanbase... having your numbers helps.

'Cause he quit using Rotosound strings quite a while before he died. Among other things, he said they he'd been trying to get them to make a set with a heavier E string and they didn't until Billy Shehan asked for it. I think Ox was endorsing SIT at the end.
