Ernie Ball Flatwounds

The store I work at sells these for a decent price, should I get them or another set of flat wounds? I know this will seem laughable, but on my old bass I really didn't pay attention to what strings were put on it, so I have no knowledge of what I really like, not the same on guitar though. Any help would be great if this would be a good purchase.

Excellent strings , my favourite flats , some people say they are similar to chromes but I would have to disagree , I find them a lot less bright than chromes and a lot warmer in the lows and mids. They are articulate and defined but not what I would call bright.
