pretty sure each set is just a an arbitrary name EB assigned various sets with differing gauge strings. Regular being what they consider normal gauge, super being "even more slinky", as in lower tension due to being of a lighter gauge, etc. Hybrid, if i'm not mistaken means it has 2 strings that would normally be in a medium or medium/light set and 2 strings that would be in a lighter set, hence a hybrid of the 2 different sets. You can't really recommend one over the other, it's going to depend on whether you like lighter or heavier gauge strings.

Try posting this question in the "strings" forum for better responses. Chances are someone will beat me to the punch with a snarky comment.

I think "Slinky" in Ernie Ball speak means light. I believe Super Slinky would be the lightest.

Edit: Correction - Extra Slinky is the lightest. Power is the heaviest. Hybrid Slinky is what most people would call "standard."

Super slinky is the heaviest i believe. Just bought some regular slinkys for myself today, i've strung some friends basses with them and they sound nice

It works the other way as said above, supers slinky are light gauge. Heres the order.

Extra Slinky (extra light)
Super Slinky (light)
Hybrid Slinky (a mix, heavier E and A, IIRC)
Regular Slinky (standard, but quite heavy compared to other makes)
Power Slinky (heavy)

When buying strings in future ignore the silly terminilogy they come up with (it just confuses) and look at the numbers. The higher the number the bigger the string.

Hope this helps.

When you look at the packages you'll see those are just the terms they assign for the diff gauges offered.
