I was on a website, and I spotted a set of EB Stainless Steel Slinkys, in all the different sizes... which version (SS or Nickel) would be better for a brighty kinda new punk sound? I've heard SS would be better, but tend to be harsher on the fingers...opinions please.

Steel or Nickel?

I use Ernie Ball Slinkies (Nickel) and pretty much think they're the cat's pajamas.

I don't care for the feel of SS and they're a bit too trebly and abrasive for my tastes. I find the nickel Slinkies to have plenty of bite without too much clank -- they're well suited to an aggressive rock tone IMO.
