Ever Had This Happen? (Missing String in Package)

Hey guys,

I just got back from my local music store to purchase a new set of strings (Ernie Ball Cobalt Slinky 5's), and was so eager to try these things out since I've heard such great things.

Well, I start stringing it up, and when I get to A (.80), well, there wasn't one in the package. Everything else was there B E D G, but A was absent.

This is my first set of EB bass strings, though I've been buying their guitar strings for years. I have never come across this before. With strings this freakin' big, you'd think it'd be pretty hard to miss one of these things in the packaging process.

Not sure if these are packed by hand or by machine, but maybe someone thought they were packing 4's.

Anyone ever had this happen before?

Nope. Never.

Contact customer service through the EBMM site, they'll take care of you.

Was the set factory sealed?

The majority of EB sets found in music stores should be hermetically sealed. (the exception is some specialty sets that not all stores carry)

Never know what happens to a music stores inventory, someone can pull a string from a set and never follow up replacing it.

But in general, very rarely a string set can be miss packaged... I have seen this happen with nearly every brand.
