Everly B52s Strings !!!!

Sign in to disble this ad
I just put on a set of Everly B52s Strings on my '08 Amer. Standard with Nordstrand NJ4SE. They sound and feel killer. I haven't had a chance to use 'em at rehearsal or a gig yet. So, that's why I'm writing to see if any uses 'em, opinions??? Nice overtones and punchy. I've had 'em on since Friday, so I can't make an opinion on longevity yet. Hopefully they last because they're aren't cheap. These Nordstrand pups seemed to like nickels, but these are Alloy 52. I've tried GHS Progressives, but lately, I've been getting a dead E string and these do sound and feel different than GHS Boomers 52 and Progressives..
The only thing I don't like is, stringing them through the body, I get about one wrap around the tuning key on the G string. But, to me, I dont' to hear or feel a diff. between through the body or through bridge anyway.
Besides the tone, they feel nice. To me, I like DRs (Sunbeams, Lowrider Nickels and SS, Fat Beams) but, I'm not too fond of their feel. Especially my plucking hand. Maybe, because DR uses a light core.
Any opinions????? Thanks.

They made strings for my basses for a time - back when I needed to rely on other manufacturers for my strings.

You can expect to get pretty good life out of them - the alloy doesn't oxidize like steel (yes, stainless oxidizes in its way) or nickel, and they will likely feel a bit tighter as the alloy is heavier than either steel or nickel.

They are inherently bright, but I never found them to be obnoxiously so.

I'm fond of them.

Used to use them a lot. Really like them but had a few inconsistent sets and moved on.

Really good strings.

Love 'em. They're my favorite all- around string.
