Excuse the Newbie, but I need some help

Hello All,

I am a newbie so be gentle, lol. I have a ESP 400 Series bass with a J Set. My question is I have strings that are 3+ years old. They are no rusting but they seem to loose tune quickly. I find myself tuning time every 5 minute. Would it be advised that I get a new set? I am learning to play and I would like to not spend time tuning so much.

New strings would definitely be a good idea.

Sounding out of tune is a good sign that your strings are finished.

What strings would you recommend that are available at Guitar Center? I would like to spend less than $25 on a set. And yes I have no idea what type to get.
