I ordered some kinda hard-to-find guitar strings from JustStrings.com, and they sent me the wrong set. I installed one of the sets just so I'd have some strings to keep on the thing and play temporarily, but I'd like to try again and this is the only company I've found that stocks Hi-Beams in Extra Heavy, so I'm considering making another order from the same place.
So, is JustStrings.com a good dealer and my bad experience just a fluke, or have you guys had issues with them and I should look for somewhere else to take my business?

| | | | it's a fluke as far as my dealings with them.
they have never screwed up an order of mine. i have bought from them for years.
also, when i bought some strings for my church, i had to call and get some paperwork...it was a headache...they stuck with me and worked it out.
that's the only time i dealt with their CS, but it was a positive one.

The only thing I don't like is that you can get all the way through the order process, get the order confirmation page, and think you're done. Then later you get the confirmation email and instead of seeing your order you get a notice saying the strings are out of stock and are back ordered. That's happened to me twice so far, the second being just last week.
On the bright side, they were at least responsive in both cases. The first time they told me they didn't know when they next shipment would be in, so I canceled the order and ordered another string. Then last week I was going to cancel that order and re-order something else but the person I spoke to said she wanted to check on something. She came back and said they were supposed to get a new shipment either that day or the next. If I wanted to cancel and order something else she'd do that or I could just keep things as-is. I decided to change nothing and my strings arrived the next day.
I'd love to see them improve their online ordering process so you see when something is out of stock, but other than that I've had no real complaints.

I ordered a couple of singles the other day and one was out of stock. Was back in the next day though and they shipped it out right away. |

One time I ordered a couple sets of strings and when they eventually were in stock and shipped I never ended up getting them. Apparently they got lost in the mail. I talked to customer service and they were more than helpful in trying help me locate my order. Since both of us couldn't find it they just refunded my money and I re-ordered them this time with tracked shipping. |

The only time I ever had "trouble" was when I wanted to return a set after opening the package (it was a "medium scale" LaBella set that didn't fit my 32" scale bass), and they wouldn't take a return of opened strings. Reasonable enough I guess. |

They never screwed me and customer service was friendly and accomodating. Only thing that bugged me was they could never tell me if strings were in stock or not. I ordered once or twice where they sent me some of the strings I ordered and told me I'd have to wait an indefinite amount of time before I got the others. If your NEED something right away - that's not too cool. It's a gamble. |

I've bought electric bass, mando, classical guitar, laúd and cavaquinho strings from them for several years without a hitch.
The availability notification is a bit annoying though.
They seem to be easy to get on the phone so if I have any doubts I just call and find out that way. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
