4-string. I have been using rotosounds. What other choices sound good? The rotosounds do not last long.

I just started using DR Hi-Beams on my Cirrus. They sound great. Also in the past I've used LaBella Slappers, which I also liked alot but made my whole rig sound extremely hi-fi (Cirrus into SWR SM500 into SWR Goliath III). The Hi-Beams are a little more balanced than the LaBellas.

By the way, I've never needed to order extra long strings for my Cirrus. Regular length strings fit fine.

Thanks
Strange about the strings. In the rotosounds, only the extra long scale fits.
So are you using just "long scale" in the Dr's?

I've never used Rotosound strings so I can't speak to the scale.

It's been a little while since I bought strings, but I dont think I specified the long scale vs standard. But they do sell the long scale versions of the Hi-Beams. Check out juststrings.com.. they have everything there

You may want to consider the longer scale strings available through Circle K strings too. They seem to be getting good reviews...

I've tried other brands, but nothing sounds as good as Peavey Cirrus strings to my ears.

Try ProSteels from D'addario!!!

I just spent several hundred dollars over the last 2 weeks trying out stainless steel strings for my brand new Cirrus 5 string.

The Cirrus nickels that it came with are not bright enough for me.

The ProSteels just blew everything away, including me. They are simply the best (if you are looking for that bright piano tone).

I just installed a super-bright wonder-full sounding set of Ken Smith Metal Masters stings to my Ripper, a through-body bass that requires a full 37.75 inches of winding length on all strings. 1/2 inch to spare. I love them already.
