F# string

I am building a bass with a low F#(below B). what strings are made that are for F#?

a little more info in this thread, among others, do a search, you'll find a lot of good stuff.

How low can you go

My F# string is the Conklin SIT .165 gauge.

Warwick Black Label's got a .175 out. Works down to E0 at "35!

It had enough tension to do F# but just barely.

To keep a bit on the subject - strangely enough, I was clanking a lot more on the Vampyre, and the strings felt a bit looser too, than in comparison with the same gauges and tuning as my BTB555. For example, I was getting rattles on the Vamp on the low A (.135) - something I NEVER get on my BTB555 (.135 - even used .130, which I'll be going back to.) Also the stringbalance of the set that Warwick has got out (175-135-105-85) is off as well. A more balanced set would do heaps in terms of playability! Say 175-130-100-70... Yum! The tension on the E0, as it were, doesn't matter terribly much to me, as it was well within comfort limits - I can handle anything down to about 27lbs. Though perhaps a .180 or .185 would be of a bit better use...
