What strings work for you to play fingerstyle with speed?

My experiences are with (all 45-105 gauges) GHS Boomers, DR Lo-riders, DR HiBeams, and a Rotosound of inknown model and gauge.

The HiBeams are the slowest for me. What can I try that's going to be easier to play faster? A coated string? A lighter gauge string?

Speed is in the action. I play a variety of strings, no type of string is faster than another. Lighter strings may requier less tension, but may have higher action if they buzz too much.

Labella is what I use for having a fast heavy hand. I've tried super slinky's, boomers, Snarling dogs, and few others. Everything but the LaBella's lasted about two weeks before either going dead or breaking. Now the Labella's will stay bright for about 3 to 5 weeks depending on how much you play and how hard you play. And I play regular guage(.45-.105) If you plan on getting LaBella's from musicians friend or a similar company, be ready to spend as arm and a leg. I get my Labella's through Carvin, 3 packs for $30.00 isnt bad in my opinion, and I've never had a problem getting my strings within a week. They are listed as Carvin strings but Labella is the company that makes them for Carvin.

If you want right hand speed,I guess you should go with higher tension strings.I have Hi-beams on my bass now and my fingers sink into them when I want to play faster thus limiting my speed.
