Fat Beams Comparison to Sadowsky Blue Label

Sign in to disble this ad
I have DR Fat Beams that I really like right now but after putting Sadowsky flatwounds on my P bass, I am really impressed with them and was thinking about trying their stainless steel roundwounds on my other bass (Marcus Miller Jazz). How would they compare in terms of tone and feel to DR Fat Beams? I've read conflicting reports on here of the Black Label and Blue Label Sadowskys but thought that someone might be able to offer some insight on how they compare to Fat Beams. To me, Fat Beams can be warm sounding but also have the snap for some sizzle if needed. They feel smoother than stainless steel strings (at least compared to Rotosounds). Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Never tryied Sadowskys' but im curious myself because I also use FatBeams.
I agree, Fat Beams are smooth. I played my friends bass today and he had D'Addario
Nickel Rounds on it, and they were rougher than the stainless Fat Beams!

Well I went on ahead and picked up a set of blue labels. I'll post back on this thread once I get a chance to try them out.
