Fat beams vs black beauties

Is there a comparison here? I'm looking for low end thump and thickness with high end clarity and preciseness. Running through a bart/bart system

my comparison is the BBs give low thump and high end clarity, but with more midrange content than the fat beams

i recently switched to BBs on my roscoe, which is a bart/bart setup, and i LOVE them

i've used fat beams in the past on 4-string jazz bass, and they are great strings too, but not as pronounced in the midrange as either the lo-riders or BBs ime

if you want the added mids and can get used to the slightly 'sticky' feeling of the BBs when they're new, they are fantastic strings and retain the high end clarity longer than others i've tried...if you don't need the added mids and want a bit more sparkle up top, the fat beams are what i'd do

Everything ()smoke() said above and I would add the BB's have a higher than average string tension. I didn't care for it.

IMO, BB's and Roscoes are a match made in heaven!

IMHO BB could be viewed as coated Low Rider nickles. They seem that similar.
