fell in love with my jazz again

i put on a set of d'addario chromes and it really fattened up the tone and it sounds great. now when i get my mxr micro amp. i will be gigging it again

indeed. for a while i was using my ray34 almost exclusively. dont get me wrong, it gets the job done. but the jazz bass is a better selection for certain songs. There is a major difference in the output between the two which is why im getting the micro amp to even things out so when i plug in the jazz, ill engage the micro amp. and my volume will be the same as the ray

those holes drive me crazy!!!!! it did come with a thumb rest but i hated the location it was in because i like to rest my thumb on the bridge pup sometimes.

I'd like to know too. Been thinking about trying some and I've read where a lot of folks prefer the .040 thru .090 set because they find the .045 thru .105 set is too stiff.

Something about those Chromes that's simply magic. When I had a jazz bass, I loved flats on them, specifically the Chromes. They sit well in the mix and can stand out just as easily, too. Still a bit bright for my taste, but at least I know it's a good brand that I can always count on.

Oh, and glad you fell in love with your bass again, but shame on you for falling out with it in the first place >:|
