As anyone tried these? If so, any comment on sound, flexibility, longevity?

Most the the MIA Fender Basses I'm familiar with come stock with the 7250 NPS Supers which was what was on a MIA Deluxe I had. They're an ok sounding string but I ended up putting DR's on in less than 6 months because the stock string seemed be getting darker and deader over time.

I think they're very playable until you determine what you like better.

every string does that, but it is also when they start sounding right, imo then again, some strings do sound bad when they go dead...

I currently have a month old set of 7150s on a PJ, and I love them more and more... the annoying zing is gone, but i do not know how dead will they go in a couple of months!

but, i did put these strings on just because i got them with another bass... otherwise, i'd try either DR (hadn't had them in a while) or try daddario roundwounds, since i never tried them before (i have chromes on my other bass)

the thing is - if you have them, play them as long as you can... if you're buying new, do some research and buy what seems to fit... there's always some risk in trying new strings, and you cannot know unless you try! but then also, when you find "your" strings, stick with them

I'm aware of how a string changes as it gets broken in but as much as I was playing at that time that would have taken place in just a couple of weeks. These weren't just settling in. They had already gone through that phase. These were going dead.

Like I said they're a very playable string and I did until it was time to change. Rounds don't last me more than 6 months anyway when I'm playing every weekend and either practice of rehearse another couple of hours every day. They're not a bad string but IMO there are far better.

Funny, but I just stated in another thread that I've come to appreciate their mundane versatility. They don't do anything particularly well, but do most things acceptably so if you'll do your part. They can be kinda like the Swiss Army knife of bass strings, if that isn't too broad an endorsement.
