Question Fender 9050M on 78' P-bass ok?

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a fretted 78' P-bass w/maple neck that currently is wearing a set of Fender 9050M flatwounds. The neck on this bass is thick like a baseball bat (which I like) but I wanted to ask your opinions on whether or not to continue to use strings with such high tension...the strings give a nice deep tone & thump but I don't want to hurt this bass.

TIA,
giant

You can't hurt a bass if the neck is straight and adjustable with them on. If the neck looks okay and plays well it's fine.
