Fender 9050's

I'm about to pump up my Squier J-bass with a fretless ebanol neck. I'll need to put up some pics once the neck gets here!

I know that I'm definitely putting flats on it. I'm going for an old-school tone, but I can't afford a set of Jamerson's LaBellas right now. I've been considering Fender 9050ML's, but are there any other good contenders at that price range? The more mojo, the better!

Not at that price range. Fender flats are probably the cheapest and they are almost identical to LaBellas IMHO.

I use either Fender 9050's or D'Addario Chromes. 3 of my 4 basses are strung with 9050's.

Thanks! I was thinking about the chromes, too...I'll see what the prices are at my local shop in just a bit!
