Fender bass VI strings on guitar?

I was looking around for baritone acoustic guitar strings when i found these, http://www.daddario.com/DADProductDe...Bass_VI__24_84 . I've seen the Fender Bass VI before and had this idea but didn't the strings still existed, they aren't too terribly thick so it seems feasible that they could work on a guitar. My only concern is that they wont fit when they show up and that they might sound terrible on my Epiphone Les Paul Standard. I'm not considering this because i need to save money or anything but because I would really like to use that guitar as a bass. If you have any experience with trying this or just have an opinion to share I would greatly appreciate your feed back.

Well they wont fit in the nut, and depending on the guitar bridge, they most likely will not pull through the bridge.

The other thing is the overall length of the string, unless you have a reverse headstock, the low-E string may be too long on a regular guitar.

Bass VI strings are guitar strings and most tuners will accept a string that large - the set you found would be a reasonable E set an octave down with 'normal' guitar tension on your Paul (18 or so pounds). You may find the .084 a little loose at low E.

A trick that some 7 string players use to take advantage of large gauges and small mounting holes in their tuners is to put a 90 degree bend in the string where it mounts in the tuner hole and unravel the outer wrap.

I do this with my strings on my guitars all the time . . . . up to a .106 on my 28.625" scale length Tele.
