Fender factory issue?
The original strings that came with my Fender Jazz MIM bass are the best I've ever had but I have no idea what they are. Does anyone know what Fender uses for a Jazz bass straight out of the factory? I finally put them back on, but I used them for almost a year before changing them. Still, they're better sounding than anything I've tried so far. Thanks, Dirk

I'm pretty sure Fenders come stock with Fender 7250 nickel rounds in 45-105. I'm not sure about the gauge.

Thanks. For some reason I bought the 8250M and the 7250HM, which aren't quite the same obviously.

Is it a five string with a tapered b? Cuz then they're probably 8250's.
Go to Fender's website, and look up the instrument specs. They (at least used to) include the stock strings, which are not the same for every bass.

Yep, that did the trick. Fender's web site says 7250ML, NPS, 045 - 100.
Well, that's good to know. Thanks.
