Fender Factory Strings

Sign in to disble this ad
I just bought a brand new American Precision in olympic white with a maple fretboard. I'm a pretty big fan of the strings that came on it from the factory, so I'm thinking about sticking with those for a while. Problem is, I don't know exactly what kind of Fender strings come on Fender basses. Anyone know?

You can send an email to Fender Customer Service and find out what strings the bass left the factory with. You can find the email address on the Fender web site.

Don't forget to include the serial number.

Even simpler: go on Fender's website, find your bass, and click on "specs." It'll tell you all the basics, including what the stock strings are.

Yeah, the new ones are 8250s (taperwounds). The 7250 is the same string, except no taper (my favorite roundwounds).

Hopefully the MIA basses actually come with the strings listed on the specifications at the Fender site. Several of us have gotten mystery stainless sets on our MIJ basses purchased recently.
