Fender Jazz MIA D'Addario Half Rounds

Sign in to disble this ad
So here is my dilemma. My Fender Jazz Deluxe MIA sports the stock strings 45, 65, 85, 110. I would like to replace these with as set of D'Addario Half Rounds, but they don't seem to make them (set sized like the originals). I thought that I would have to mix match a set, but the 110 does not seem to be included in any of their sets.

Any suggestions would be a great help, even suggestion of another brand I can check out.

Go to Musician's Friend, and they sell a heavy-gauge set of D'addario Half-Rounds. They have a dark red ring around the "XL" and are in a silver package. The gauge is .055, .075, .090, and .110. Those aren't the gauges you want, but they might be OK. good luck!

That's a pretty big E string. Half Rounds will feel tighter than regular rounds.

Even a 105 Daddario Half Round E string is going to feel stiffer and less flexable than that 110 Fender stock string. If I was using the Half Rounds I would go 100 on the E string. Like jasper383 said these are tight strings.

Try these:

GHS ML3075 Brite Flats Electric Bass Strings
Gauges: 52-65-84-103. Ground Roundwound

I like them better than the D'As.

+1
Use the D'Addario ENR72 Half Rounds Medium Bass Strings (.50-.105) on both my MIA J's fretted and fretless and love them.
